It’s Harvest Mite Time Again !

If your pet has started to lick their paws excessively over the last few weeks then they are likely to have been bitten by harvest mites. These mites live in grass and have little hooked mouthparts that attach to the skin between your pet’s toes or in the ear folds. Many pets are allergic to their bite and so become very itchy.

If your pet is affected then please book an appointment as they will often need medication to calm the skin down and a spray to kill the “Berry Bugs”. The spray needs repeated regularly until the mites season finishes in October.
