Meet The Team

Jim qualified in 2005, and spent time working with buffalo in South Africa and vetting police sniffer dogs before joining our team in 2018. When he’s not working, he enjoys spending time with his family and building things in his garden.

Rebecca qualified in 2013 and has experience in equine and small animal nursing. She moved to Scotland in 2018 and fell in love with the place after spending time exploring the countryside.

Olivia studied at Massey University and spent time working in New Zealand and Birmingham before joining our team. She especially loves surgery, and of course, puppy and kitten play time. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, running, reading and ticking new experiences off her to-do list!

Originally from New Zealand, Jess worked in Northern Ireland before joining our team in 2020. She has not looked back since! In her own time, she enjoys exploring the local area with her partner and popping into local cafés for treats.

Becca grew up always wanting to be a vet and achieved her dream when she graduated from University of Glasgow in 2015. After several years of adventuring in the south, she decided she missed the hills of Scotland too much and returned to her hometown in the Borders, joining our team in 2022. When not out having real adventures, she can be found getting lost in fictional ones.

I qualified in 2013 from SRUC Barony college with a HND in Veterinary Nursing, and I’ve been working as a registered veterinary nurse in the Scottish Borders ever since. I have a keen interest in exotic pets such as reptiles and I love doing nurse consults. I spend my spare time walking my two cocker spaniels and spending time with my family and friends.

Fiona has been with our practice for over 20 years. As well as being part of our reception team, she also deals with all pet insurance work. She loves getting to meet clients and their pets, and played rugby for Melrose Ladies before deciding to switch her focus to horse riding. She has a horse called Snoopy, who you may have seen on the common riding during the summer months.

Joined in November 2022. Graduated from Glasgow University with a degree in Veterinary Bioscience and is currently studying to become a vet nurse. Spends most of her time with her Australian shepherd dog called Fara: a very happy, wiggly girl who does agility. Other hobbies include, hiking and reading.

Chloe joined us in 2021 and is one of the friendly voices you hear at the end of our phone lines. She loves getting to know our clients and patients, especially when puppy play is involved! She spends her weekends working at her family’s ice cream business, but enjoys walking her dog, Lotti, and meeting up with friends in her free time.

Alex spent 20 years working in retail before joining our team in 2021, and she has relished the opportunity to make the most of her passion for animals. She spends most of her free time with her rottweiler, Indy, who can occasionally be found at our reception desk!

Brodie has been with us since November 2022, she started as a Veterinary Care Assistant with us but will be starting her diploma in Veterinary Nursing in September. She spends her weekends with her fiancé and her dog Nala going for walks and starting new adventures as a family.
